What is the arbs?

Example of an arbitration situation:

Two tennis players (for example, this is Souza and Janessie) are given equal odds of 1.95 each. Bookmaker 1 recorded its load on Sousa and increased the odds on Janessie to 2.10. In office 2, on the contrary, the Italian was loaded, and the bookmakers were forced to raise the odds for Sousa to 2.10.

What do we end up with? If you bet on both outcomes through these two offices, we will make a profit for any outcome of the match.

In office 1 we bet 20,000 rubles on Janessi for 2.10;

In office 2 we bet 20,000 rubles for Souza for 2.10.

This is the arb. If Janessie wins, we get a winnings of 20,000 x 2.10 = 42,000 rubles in the first office. If Souza wins - the same win in the second. In total, we placed 40,000 rubles and received a guaranteed profit of +2,000 rubles (or 5% of the transaction). Yes, not much. But without risks (almost). The system is considered a win-win on paper, but in reality, arbs contain some risks.

What arbs can be?

Arbs have a lot of varieties, here are a few of them:

1. Two-way arbs. This is the arb as in the previous example, the simplest one. They are immediately visible in the lines, you can even calculate them in your head. Not only victories are suitable, but also any mutually exclusive outcomes: TB (3.5) and TM (3.5), both will score and both will not score, X and 12, each period more than 2.5 goals (yes, no) and so Further.

1. Three-way arbs. This fork is already more complicated, they contain three arms at once, for example, three outcomes in a football match. Or 3-way total. It is no longer so easy to identify them, and for calculating the amounts of bets on the shoulders, you cannot do without a calculator.

1. Multiple arbs. There are even more outcomes in arbs. As a rule, such situations are associated with accurate scores of matches. In tennis, there are four options for such outcomes, and in volleyball or tabletop there are even six.

Obviously, the first outcome is much more likely. We can distribute the rates so that all the profit falls on the victory of “Zenith”. To do this, you need to bet there 78.36%, on X - 14.5%, and on P2 only 7.14% in order to get a refund of the bet amount in case of an unexpected outcome.

1. Incomplete arbs. This is a surebet, which has a small probability of losing on all the shoulders. For example, we bet one shoulder on TB (167.5) points in basketball for 2.25, and the second bet on TM (165.5) points for 2.20. We will be satisfied with almost all options, except for the total of exactly 166 or 167 points. In this case, neither TM nor TB plays, and we get a loss on both leverage of the bet.

1. Live and prematch arbs. Only some of the forks are placed before the game. The surebet is much more popular and profitable, where both shoulders are placed in live or one is placed before the match, and the second is already in the course of the game.
